Sesame oil pulling may also reduce the symptoms of gum disease, which can turn into gingivitis. A study shows that coconut oil pulling every day has the potential to prevent plaque formation and gingivitis markers.

Gingivitis can result in tooth sensitivity without oil pulling. Research says tooth sensitivity is common if you have gum recession, which may lead to gingivitis.

Green Tea

Clove Gel

Clove oil is recognised as a folk remedy for toothache, but according to research, this remedy is more than a tradition. A 2006 study says clove gel is similar to topical benzocaine – dentists use it to numb your gums before inserting needles. The results suggest that clove gel is as effective as benzocaine gel and can relieve needle pain.

You can apply clove gel to your gums, which may help reduce sensitivity to your teeth and ease the pain. Scientists continue to research to confirm the benefits of clove gel.

Vanilla Extract

Generally, vanilla extract has properties to relieve pain and acts as an antiseptic. For sensitivity, you can take a cotton ball and dip it into a vanilla extract. Apply the cotton ball to your affected teeth and gums for a few minutes to feel pain relief.

Prevent Tooth Sensitivity At All Costs

To prevent tooth sensitivity, you must protect your tooth enamel as well. You can do this by brushing your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, flossing once or more a day, don’t whiten your teeth often, restricting yourself from any sugary, starchy and acidic foods; drinking less alcohol, wearing a mouthguard when you sleep to stop teeth grinding and clenching, visit your dentist regularly and quit smoking.
