Full Mouth Examination, Scale and Polish

  • Once per 6 month interval.
  • Full Mouth Examination includes inspection of the teeth and surrounding tissues of the oral cavity.
  • Scale and Polish involves the removal of all tartar build up on teeth.
  • 3 month waiting period.

Intraoral Radiographs

  • 4 films per member, per year.
  • 3 month waiting period.

Emergency Examination

  • Unlimited consultations available for treatment of acute pain and discomfort.
  • 1 month waiting period.

Infection Control

  • No annual limit, but limited to 2 codes per consultation. This consists of equipment sterilisation.
  • 1 month waiting period.

Extractions

  • 7 extractions per member, per year.
  • 3 month waiting period.

Fillings

  • 5 restorations per member, per year.
  • Cover is provided up to the maximum expenditure.
  • 3 month waiting period.

Root Canal

  • 2 Teeth per member, per year.
  • 3 month waiting period

Impaction

  • The removal of 4 teeth per member, per year, as a result of impaction.
  • This benefit is only applicable to wisdom teeth.
  • 3 month waiting period

Crown

  • 2 Teeth per member, per year, up to a maximum benefit limit of R 3 500.

*Platinum Plus: 2 teeth per member, per year, up to a maximum benefit limit of R 4 000

  • 3 month waiting period

Advanced Dentistry

  • R2 100 per policy, per year.

*Platinum Plus: R 2 800 per policy, per year

  • This benefit covers additional costs for dental procedures not covered by any other benefit. Subject to Formulary.
  • 3 month waiting period.

Platinum PLUS

The Platinum Plus package is only available on the Platinum Plan.

For an additional R 329 per member, per month

Includes:

  • Teeth Whitening, up to R2000 per policy, once every 12 months.
  • Increased Advanced Dentistry benefit
  • Increased cover for Crowns
  • 1 set of Partial Plastic Dentures every 48 months per member.
